Position Overview

We are seeking a Sustainable Design Consultant to join our Madison, WI office.

Responsibilities   

• This position will be responsible for leading projects for AEI's sustainability practice including:
• New construction, campus planning, carbon/climate action plans, green development standards, energy conservation, environmental policy.
• The Sustainable Design Consultant will provide leadership on relevant environmental issues from both technical and process perspectives and will act as a project manager for the sustainability work on individual projects and will also often provide the technical leadership. 

Qualifications 

Miinimum Qualifications: 

• BSME/BSAE (or other engineering discipline with applicable experience).
• 3+ years of relevant experience using building simulation tools. Working knowledge of all areas of sustainability such as the LEED rating system and other metric systems, renewable energy, green design, energy conservation, carbon issues, etc. as well as be an expert in at least one of these areas.
• Strong knowledge of TRNSYS, DOE-2, eQUEST, IES-VE, or EnergyPlus.
• Strong fundamental skills in building engineering thermodynamics.
• Experience with airflow (CONTAM, OpenFoam, Phoenics), daylight modeling (Elum Tools, DIVA, Radiance, DAYSIM), scripting, Grasshopper tools, AutoCAD/Revit and/or SketchUp.
