Position Overview: 

The Atlanta office of Perkins+Will is seeking a Sustainable Design Analyst with a minimum of 5-10 years experience in the green building industry. This person will work closely with the Science+Technology Market Sector to conduct energy and daylight modeling, energy benchmarking, renewable energy analysis and cost studies.  Support firm research initiatives on best building practices and assessment of the performance of existing and recently-completed projects as well as assessment and integration of campus systems (central utilities, energy, water, waste management, transit, etc).

Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical expertise for the implementation of sustainable design solutions
  • Identify sustainable design opportunities beyond requirements in rating systems
  • Daylight design, including glare, contrast, light levels, lighting controls, etc.
  • Energy modeling and benchmarking, net-zero building solutions, utility incentive reports
  • ASHRAE 90.1, ASHRAE 55, and ASHRAE 62.1
  • Life cycle analysis
  • Renewable energy technologies and analytical models

Qualifications: 

Candidates should have a degree in Engineering, Building Science, or Architecture with experience working on high performance design analyses, including energy, renewable energy, and daylight modeling. High level of knowledge and experience with IES VE, Equest, Energy Pro, Lumen Micro/Designer and other relevant tools a must and ability to share expertise with others.  Candidates will be challenged in an integrated design process focusing on solutions that impact the engineering and overall sustainability of the building or campus. Experience with CFD and carbon footprinting is a plus. PE Candidates with MEP or HVAC experience are preferred. 

Ability to conduct self-directed research and analysis with limited supervision is required, as is collaboration with multiple teams. Strong Word, Excel, research, speaking and writing skills required. Qualified candidates will be well versed with LEED. Some travel around North America may also be required.
