Position Overview
Montgomery County Department of General Services, is seeking a Sustainability Program Manager (Program Manager II, Sustainability Program Manager, Grade 25).
This position will be responsible for planning, implementing and tracking a wide variety of cost and resource saving initiatives that yield measurable benefits.
These initiatives may include reducing energy consumption, expanding County clean energy projects, reducing water consumption, improving biodiversity on County properties, and other efforts to reduce the environmental footprint of County operations.
Responsibilities
- This position will be responsible for coordinating a sustainability plan.
- This plan will require extensive interaction with staff, representing a variety of disciplines, across County government.
- The position will also be responsible for developing and implementing behavior based campaigns to encourage energy conservation and a culture of sustainability in County Departments and facilities.
- Implementation of this program will likely include training and education of County employees and users of County facilities or services.
- The successful candidate will also be responsible for identifying, pursuing, implementing, and monitoring grants and incentives to finance initiatives.
- Clear, concise communication for technical and non-technical audiences is essential to job performance and the successful candidate will be expected to maintain the Office of Energy and Sustainability's website, social media, press releases and other communications.
- The successful candidate must be enthusiastic about sustainability and will be expected to "hit the ground running" on initiatives under development.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Experience: Thorough 5 years professional experience managing programs in the field of clean energy, energy efficiency, recycling, water quality, water conservation, environmentally preferable purchasing, sustainability, or environmental stewardship.
- Education: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's Degree.

Compensation: $61,578 - $102,153.
