Position Overview:
This position is responsible for organizing and developing Frederick County's Green Building Program and Comprehensive Energy Program for the Office of Environmental Sustainability. The position will assist the Director, Office of Environmental Sustainability, in developing and supporting new sustainability policies and programs for internal government operations and community-wide initiatives that reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions attributed to the building sector.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Policy/Management, Environmental Science, Architecture, Environmental Planning, Business Administration or a closely related field. Minimum 4 years of related professional work experience including the development and implementation of energy efficiency, renewable energy, and/or green building programs. Preference may be given for work experience in any of the following areas: Environmental policy development; Green building standards; Energy efficiency and conservation outreach; Facilitating/engaging community input; and/or Web page maintenance
Compensation: $51,517 per year (full-time; full-benefits; grant-funded for 3 years).
