Position Overview 

Pratt & Whitney Global Environment, Health & Safety is seeking a Sustainability Manager to lead company sustainability programs globally.

Pratt & Whitney's goal is to be recognized as the sustainability leader in the aerospace industry, and has set aggressive targets to meet by 2025.

The role of this position is to coordinate efforts to achieve the company's sustainability goals and to serve as a key point of contact for senior management and operations. This person serves to guide our company on long-term programs that influence our overall environmental footprint and interactions with employees and the community.

Responsibilities 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Provide leadership and continuous improvement strategy for company-wide sustainability initiatives, ensuring alignment between P&W and UTC
• Deliver timely, consistent, and accurate communications to optimize sustainability messaging to all company stakeholders
• Coordinate structure and responsibilities of sustainability executive council and working groups to ensure alignment of activities and goals
• Manage internal and external awards processes to promote sustainability programs
• Participate in supply chain management to ensure supplier evaluation systems are robust and materials of concern are eliminated
• Maintain awareness of global sustainability emerging issues including technologies that have the potential to reduce our environmental impact and promote our business as a leader in sustainability
• Participate in professional association committees and expert partnerships
• Provide expertise for internal and external benchmarking
• Develop strategy for partnering with our customers to promote sustainability practices
• Promote and coordinate community outreach activities aligned with our sustainability message, including company-issued grants for green activities
• Coordinate sustainability program metrics and progress reports
• Collaborate on developing a company greenhouse gas reduction strategy
• Participate in GEH&S oversight functions such as providing services to facilities, auditing, administering standards and procedures, and training

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in environmental field
• Master's degree in Public Policy, Sustainability, Marketing or Business Administration
• Minimum of seven years experience in industry with corporate experience. Ten years is preferred

• Excellent skills in project management, writing, public speaking, and organization
• Experience in team building, collaboration, and networking
• Proficiency in common business computer applications
• Experience with GRI, ISO 26000, LEED is a plus
