Description
~ The Public Auditorium Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County was incorporated on February 3, 1954, pursuant to the Public Auditorium Authorities Law, as a joint authority organized by the City of Pittsburgh (City) and Allegheny County (County) to provide educational, cultural, physical, civic, and social events for the benefit of the general public. ~
Effective November 1999, the Public Auditorium Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County's name was legally changed to the Sports & Exhibition Authority of Pittsburgh and Allegheny County (SEA). The Public Auditorium Authorities Law was re-codified in 2000 and the Authority is now authorized and exists under the Sports and Exhibition Authority Act through March 23, 2049.
As a joint authority for the City and County, the SEA provides venues for sporting, entertainment, educational, cultural, civic, and social events for the public. The Authority owns and leases PNC Park, Heinz Field and CONSOL Energy Center. The Authority owns and is responsible for the operation of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center (Convention Center). The SEA also owns two parking facilities, riverfront parks, and various associated infrastructure improvements.
Position Overview
The Sports & Exhibition Authority is currently seeking a Sustainability Coordinator.
Responsibilities
- Works independently to coordinate sustainability initiatives for the Authorities and their facilities.
- Works on proposals and specifications for capital projects and coordinates all Authority art projects related to the collection.
- The position networks, leads and motivates others to promote sustainable activities.
- The percentage of work performed on different aspects of the job are as follows. This may change based on need of the organization:
- 40% sustainability projects
- 40% capital/operating project management
- 10% art
- 10% other
Qualifications
- A Masters Degree is preferred.
- A Bachelors Degree is required in engineering or related field.
- 3 years of work experience is preferred and must show proven project management experience.
- Must be a LEED Accredited Professional.
- Technical skills must include advanced computer skills and knowledge of standard software applications such as Microsoft Office, and Adobe Photoshop and Acrobat.
- A current, valid Class C Pennsylvania Motor Vehicle Operator's License at the time of filing application or prior to appointment, which must be maintained throughout employment.
- Must be a resident of Allegheny County.
