Position Overview:
The Sustainability Coordinator will be accountable for coordinating the external recycling program and seek to improve participation.
Responsibilitiess:
- Maintain data and prepare monthly reports for climate neutral products and other offset programs.
- Collect data, prepare and submit quarterly sustainability metrics report.
- Plan, organize and schedule a minimum of 6 Restorative Events annually.
- Initiate miscellaneous community involvement and social sustainability projects.
- Create internal and external sustainability education presentations. Maximize award opportunities both internal and external.
- Maintain current and future environmental product certifications. Respond to customer and sales representative requests in a timely fashion.
- Stay abreast of opportunities for integration into sustainability programs, global understanding of sustainable practices and recycling technology.
- Support the Director of Sustainability as required.
- Any additional responsibilities required to maintain a smooth operation of the department and/or any customer requests.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree with emphasis in the environmental/sustainability sciences.
- LEED Green Associate certification preferred.
- High level of computer literacy and in depth experience with Microsoft Office, Lotus notes, and excellent internet research skills required.
- Must have excellent communication skills both written and verbal (English).
- Bilingual Spanish preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, detail oriented and follow-through skills.
- Ability to work independently and complete tasks with little supervision.
- Must be willing to travel (to include travel by air).
- Flexible work schedule; willing to work overtime when required including weekends.
