Description
Duties:
Assist with management of a 270-acre Hudson River tidal marsh and adjacent
nature center. 40 hours per week, work alternate weekends; conduct education
programs and guided canoe tours; participate in site based and regional research
projects; care for live animal exhibits; interpret exhibits to nature center visitors;
assist with buildings and grounds maintenance, design and implement individual
research or education project.
Qualifications:
Undergraduate majoring in wildlife/marine biology, environmental studies,
environmental/outdoor education, or related field; good
interpersonal/communication skills with adults and children a must; prior teaching
and/or canoeing experience a plus; prefer students needing credit from an
internship.
Location:
Audubon New York's Constitution Marsh Audubon Center and Sanctuary in
Garrison, New York, one of the Hudson River's largest remaining tidal marshes.
Dates: June 1 - September 1, 2003 (negotiable).
Compensation: Weekly stipend (amount to be announced), plus housing.
