Description

CONCUR, a premier provider of environmental dispute resolution services in the western US, has been working in the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) field for over 13 years. CONCUR is committed to helping communities and institutions find collaborative solutions to environmental issues. We employ a two-table approach to mediation, alternately convening policy makers and science advisors, to craft stable agreements for complex environmental problems.

An intern at CONCUR will conduct basic research and assist staff on facilitated and mediated projects featuring national, state, and local agencies. Project issues include flood control, water use, watershed restoration, endangered species, Superfund, and bioregional issues. Duties may include work in support of facilitated processes, researching issues under discussion, and exposure to facilitated and mediated process skills. Interns may assist with the design and creation of project writing papers and articles for publication.

BS/BA in an environmental studies or similar area preferred, and current enrollment in related graduate program. Interest in collaborative problem solving and outstanding writing skills required. Must possess strong Mac computer skills including Word, Excel, FileMakerPro, and Netscape. Interest in a strong professional setting with industry leaders also important.
