M+R Strategic Services a public affairs firm dedicated to helping nonprofits, seeks a Campaigns Manager. At M+R, we run campaigns that work -- fighting for civil rights, protecting our environment, pushing for new cures to cruel diseases and working on behalf of the broad public interest. Every day, we recruit supporters, raise money, generate media attention, and run sophisticated integrated advocacy campaigns for groups working on the most important issues of the day.

Position Overview:

M+R Strategic Services is looking for an energetic, ambitious campaigner to join our team in Washington, DC, as a full-time Strategist or Senior Strategist in our Campaigns Division. You'll become an integral part of the campaigns team at M+R, supporting grassroots organizing, coalition management, stakeholder engagements efforts and implementing integrated advocacy campaigns with communications and online colleagues on behalf of M+R's nonprofit clients across the country.

Responsibilities:

Specific job responsibilities for the Strategist or Senior Strategist will include:

  • Serve as the day-to-day client manager for organizing, coalition, and stakeholder engagement based accounts, and in some cases integrated campaigns;
  • Assist senior members of the Campaigns division develop and execute strategic and well-organized field mobilization efforts as well as integrated campaign plans;
  • Manage junior staff on organizing, coalition, and stakeholder engagement based accounts as well as integrated campaigns;
  • Help integrate online organizing, coalition management, grassroots engagement, events, and policymaker lobbying into sophisticated national advocacy campaigns;
  • Help oversee teams of state-based organizers and ensure project goals and benchmarks are accomplished;
  • Assist with organizing and recruitment in key states where projects are operating;
  • Draft and edit policy documents, field organizing materials, and online communications.

Qualifications:

  • 5+ years experience with coalition management, field organizing, or advocacy campaigns, as well as familiarity with integrated campaigns that include press outreach and online engagement.
  • Excellent campaign planning and execution skills.
  • Strong project management and planning skills with an eye for detail.
  • Experience building and working with coalitions or working with a large group of individuals as part of a team effort.
  • Demonstrated proficiency communicating with and engaging supporters online.
  • Enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, on multiple projects with tight deadlines.
  • Excellent writing and communications skills including public speaking experience.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Good eye for design and formatting.
