Position Overview:

Make your mark, share your passion, and paint a picture of an exciting and beautiful sustainable built environment.  You're a communicator and translator between the passion and innovation of Interface and its marketplace.  Sometimes you teach a colleague.  Sometimes you help close a deal.  You show how sustainable design is better design.  You're the face of Interface to hundreds of customers, some skeptical and some just as passionate as you.  You are excited to have the chance to show the world that sustainability is the smart thing to do. 

Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

Strategic Stakeholder Engagement:

Proactively develop relationships with highly influential individuals, architectural and design firms, end users, state and local government, and organizations in the "green building" industry to amplify Interface's thought leadership and ensure Interface remains highly regarded in the sustainability arena.  Existing relationships with West Coast thought leaders is highly desirable.  

Strategic Market Segment Development:

Define and pursue the rapidly growing market for green products as a cross-cutting market segment.  Work closely with Interface market segment, technical, marketing, and sales teams to develop strategies, programs, and tools for Interface AE's to win contracts influenced by sustainable purchasing criteria.

Sales Partnerships:

Responsively partner with sales efforts as "Interface's Sustainability expert" to win large or highly visible business contracts.

Market Antennae:

Research and return to Interface the latest trends and opportunities in the rapidly growing green product market.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree; prefer a graduate degree in a technical or business field
  • Experience with developing and maintaining extensive network of relationships with decision makers in strategic business opportunities
  • Demonstrated understanding of the principles of sustainable development and their application to business development
  • Excel in addressing large and small audiences through traditional and non-traditional presentations
  • Experience translating sustainability and/or "green" issues to business and/or building industry
  • Travel estimated at 50%
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to respond/communicate quickly, clearly, and persuasively on a variety of subjects
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment to prioritize work, handle multiple tasks and work effectively as part of a matrixed team involving direct sales, market segment management and marketing staff
  • Strong research, interpersonal and inter-cultural skills
  • Experience in managing complex projects and client relations
  • Competent with powerpoint, excel; comfortable with mobile office tools
