Staff Ecologist

Position Overview

Eco-Asset Midwest, LLC is seeking candiates for the position of Staff Ecologist in Sioux Falls. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Managing large-scale, complex habitat restoration projects, including budgets, in SD, ND, MT and WY;
• Managing resources, including contractors, to meet project obligations and deadlines;
• Completing restoration plans, reports, and mitigation bank support documents (familiarity with functional assessment models like HGM preferred);
• Collaborating with Principals and out-source design consultants to implement site-specific restoration plans in various field settings;
• Securing environmental permits from local, state and federal agencies;
• Studying current scientific research in the context of restoration projects;
• Working with Principals in writing new project proposals;
• Attending public events, fairs, conferences and meetings to promote Eco-Asset Midwest and its mission;
• Training entry level technicians, interns and biologists in field techniques; and
• Traveling to restoration projects for planning, monitoring and project development. 

Qualifications  

Minimum Requirements: 

• 10+ years of related work experience (Montana/Dakotas experience preferred);
• BA/BS in environmental science, ecology, biology, Ag science or related field (MS preferred);
• Experience with wetland and/or stream ecology, federal regulations and permitting;
• Excellent communications skills, particularly technical writing; and
• Self-directed, highly motivated, dependable, high sense of responsibility and ownership in projects and mission. 

Compensation: Salary and benefits commensurate with experience.
