International Rivers supports communities around the world seeking to stop destructive dams and promote better methods of meeting needs for water, energy and protection from floods. In June, we will Celebrate our 25th Anniversary with a fundraiser-celebration.
Position Overview:
International Rivers is seeking a Special Event Intern to work with the Director of Individual Giving to:
- Identify, contact, and assist with soliciting in-kind donations;
- Track in-kind donations for the fundraising gala;
- Assist in producing the event's silent auction catalogue.
Qualifications:
- Experience working in a team in a busy, nonprofit setting;
- Excellent phone and research skills;
- Professionalism, as you will often be the first point of contact with new donors;
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office software, particularly Excel and Word;
- Experience with FileMaker Pro or other database programs a plus;
- Excellent organizational skills;
- Initiative, reliability, and flexibility.
Compensation: This rewarding internship will be offered Mid-February through April or May 2010 (up to 100 hours). The successful candidate will have the opportunity to communicate with local green businesses and be an integral part of a dynamic non-profit office environment in downtown Berkeley. Compensation will include training and $10/hour.
