Description

Granite State Rural Water Association is a non-profit trade association dedicated to aid New Hampshire water and wastewater systems through legislative activities, training and on-site technical assistance.

Position Overview:

The Source Water Protection Specialist will assist Granite State Rural Water Association in completing 2 source water protection projects. In each project area, the Specialist will hold water protection workshops, work with local partners to help establish and manage volunteer planning committees, develop inventories of potential sources of contamination, guide committees through the recommendation-generating process, and write a source water protection plan.

Qualifications:

  • Completion or progress toward a degree in Natural Resources. Master degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of source water protection planning, public water supplies, and potential sources of contamination.
  • Ability to establish and work with volunteer committees.
  • Available for travel and willingness to attend night meetings.
  • Strong presentation skills, word processing, spreadsheet, internet and computer skills.
  • Demonstrated experience using ArcMap software to generate maps a plus.
