Description
Sound to Sea, Trinity Center's Environmental Education program on North Carolina's Southern Outer Banks is situated on a 62-acre island preserve.
Position Overview:
Join a staff of 9 instructors to teach classes on the 5 major island habitats that are part of our property; the beach, maritime forest, freshwater pond, salt marsh and sound. Class topics vary from island ecology to coastal cultures and human impacts. Instructors utilize hands-on activities to teach multidisciplinary curriculum, create programs and classes for diverse populations and are trained to work with and care for birds of prey and salt and fresh water aquariums. Instructors have overnight duty one night every two weeks and will be trained in Basic First Aid and CPR.
Year-round employment opportunities available; contracts begin in August.

Qualifications:
Requires: Degree in related field, ability and desire to work with elementary school students through senior adults in small and large group situations; creativity, flexibility, sense of humor and a desire to live in community. Previous teaching experience helpful.
Compensation: $255/wk plus room, board, medical insurance.
