Position Overview:
Would you like to be part of a market leading company that is pioneering solar energy in the mid-Atlantic region? Can you effectively demonstrate to potential clients that solar energy is a clean and renewable energy source that is both affordable and convenient?
As a professional solar sales account manager, you will be responsible for turning qualified leads into customers. This position requires strong relationship skills, extensive travel throughout NJ and bordering states, and an ability to complete technical evaluations of customer sites.
Professional-grade project proposal, presentation, negotiation, and contracting skills, are a must. This is a technical sales position that will require strong direct customer interactions, a focus on financial analysis, and an ability to show potential customers how solar power can be a smart solution for their energy needs.
Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5-yrs outside sales experience in a relevant industry such as clean energy technology, manufacturing and production technology or construction.
- Significant experience with business to business and direct consumer sales a requirement. Strong preference for experience in solar energy sales, but we will train professional and motivated candidates from other relevant fields.
- Proficiency with SalesForce, and Microsoft Office suite.
- Proficiency learning and selling a technical product. This is a technical market that requires significant attention to detail, evaluation of multiple technical and financial factors, and an ability to explain complicated solutions to non-technical consumers.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Track record of exceeding sales goals/quota.
- Experience giving high-level corporate sales presentations highly desirable.
- "In-home" consumer selling experience highly desirable.
- Enthusiasm and a "Can Do "attitude, the ability to thrive in a rapidly changing environment, and a preference for working with a highly collaborative team.
- A self-motivated, well organized, detail-oriented, independent worker. An ability to succeed with minimal supervision after appropriate training. Excellent scheduling, and follow-through skills a must.
- Ability to work under stress and meet goals and deadlines in a dynamic work environment. An ability to prioritize and multi-task will be critical, along with an ability to provide routine reporting and administrative follow-through.
- A passion and ability to effectively educate the public about solar electricity.
- Clean driving record and background check. Compliance with the company's code of conduct a requirement.
- Must provide own fuel-efficient, reliable transportation to meet at customer's homes throughout NJ and neighboring states. Evening or weekend commitments may be required.
