Renewable Energy Systems of Alaska is looking for a Solar Installer Crew Leader position at our Anchorage location. Solar is a fast growing industry and this is a great opportunity to get training and experience, with the best renewable company in Alaska. As a Solar Installer Crew Leader you will be a part of a team that installs solar PV panels for on/off-grid.

The Position:

Renewable Energy Systems is looking to expand our team by recruiting the right person to train as a Solar Installer Crew Leader. We are looking for a full-time employee that has construction, roofing, and/or electrical experience. Some responsibilities will include: supervising and installing PV panels (we train you AND pay you), layout plan and materials, and loading/unloading materials. You will learn how to install solar, wind, and battery power management systems with the best products in the industry. The position has led to apprenticeships, management, and other positions within the company. You can become trained in customer service, solar products, and even sales, in one of the fastest growing industries in the U.S.

About the Role:

We have in-house state approved OJT training programs and electrical apprenticeships. Provided OSHA 10 training. Reliable and fully stocked service vans. Enjoy more time off while working 4 x 10-hour shifts per week. Mostly local work (some travel required). Average 40-50 hours of work per week with paid overtime. No emergency callouts. Most weekends off. Exciting environment with a great team mentality. Full staff includes management, electricians, crew leader, install team, and bookkeeping make work easier and more efficient = focus on work.

Installations for solar PV electrical work both residential and commercial.

The ideal candidate will have the following experience / skill:

  • 1+ years construction or roofing experienced preferred
  • Experience with solar preferred
  • Electrical knowledge/experience, to include layouts
  • Supervisor/Foreman/leader experience
  • Good problem-solving skills, decision making, and good time management skills.
  • Must have own hand tools
  • Lots of room to grow.

Requirements - All applicants must have the following:

  • Be able to travel for 3–4-day projects
  • Must be comfortable working from heights
  • Good driving record (no DUI or Reckless driving in last 5 years.)
  • Pass a basic background check

Compensation:

  • $25-$35 per hour depending on experience and certifications
