Chesapeake Solar is the mid-Atlantic regional office of groSolar, a national leader in solar energy. GroSolar is a fast-growing national company specializing in the distribution and installation of solar energy systems. Chesapeake Solar provides design, installation and maintenance services for commercial, institutional and residential clients in the Mid-Atlantic region.
We are currently seeking a motivated and hard working solar installer for our expanding base of renewable energy customers.
Position Overview:
Solar installers are responsible for the timely and professional installation of solar electric (PV) and hot water systems. Full training is provided, though solar installation experience is a strong plus. This position requires roof work and confidence in working with hand tools and with lifting heavy objects.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with strong physical and technical skills and a desire to work in a dynamic and growing company committed to environmental sustainability. Applicants must also have the following qualifications:
* Construction experience helpful
* Solar experience a plus, but we will provide full training
* Basic wiring or plumbing experience a plus
* SEI or MREA training a plus, but not necessary
* Excellent verbal and customer service skills
* Reliable transportation, valid drivers' license, and clean driving record
* Ability to lift 100 lbs
* Must be comfortable working on roofs and ladders
Compensation: commensurate with experience. Benefits package includes health, vacation, paid holidays, life insurance, and 401k
Some regional travel required
Position available immediately
Full time position (40 hr work week, Mon-Thurs.)
