Renovus Energy is a small growing renewable energy design-build firm based in Ithaca, NY that focuses on solar electric and small wind systems, as well as on solar thermal systems for domestic hot water and space heating. The company was started in 2003, and has completed over eighty systems throughout New York. Having had enough of conventional hierarchical and self-absorbed practices, Renovus strives towards a wider view of the world and consensus-based decision-making processes.
Job Description:
Renovus is seeking a highly motivated intermediate or senior level Installer to lead one of our two field crews. Working with the company's project designers, the Installer will direct and participate in the building of solar electric and/or solar thermal systems for Renovus clients throughout NY.
The Installer must have significant experience with the technical and construction aspects of solar electric and/or thermal systems, and should have the interest and ability to manage and organize a small field crew.
The Installer will also be responsible for staying current with developments in the solar electric/thermal field, and will be expected to contribute to the ongoing dialogue concerning our installation processes and material choices.
This position is most suitable for someone with a long-term interest in this field, and with a desire to be an engaged and responsible part of a growing company.
Qualifications:
Experience with solar electric and/or solar thermal system installation Technical and construction background or aptitude Exceptional communication and organizational abilities Strong follow through, self-motivation Engineering or MBA background a strong plus Strong environmental principles and heart felt desire to change the way we interact with the Earth
Compensation/Benefits:
Renovus is a living wage employer. Starting salary for this position is $29,000 with two paid weeks of holiday. Salary is expected to increase with the growth of the company.
