Social Media Internship

Position Overview:

Green Education Foundation (GEF) is seeking a highly organized individual to assist with the implementation of its social media strategy. This individual must have a strong attention to detail, great writing skills, and the ability to think analytically. Projects include researching potential Facebook and Twitter promotional partners, developing and implementing social media contests, and researching and testing new content delivery platforms.

GEF's Social Media intern will help GEF meet the needs of existing partners and sponsors through social media outreach, promote GEF Institute online courses, and foster new relationships with the potential for greater partnership.

The position is idea for a local college student pursuing college credit as part of their internship requirement. Please note that this is an unpaid internship.

Responsibilities: 

• Establish a strong social media presence for GEF by growing followers and increasing engagement across all platforms
• Participate in/view Facebook's Marketing Bootcamp program and apply strategies to GEF
• Connect with like-minded organizations by responding to posts daily
• Develop and implement social media contest around GEF's programs and courses
• Research market opportunities
• Track and analyze GEF's social media strategies and progress
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

Education Requirements/Preferences:

• Bachelor's degree or degree in progress (preferably Marketing, Communications or related field)
• Knowledge of current trends in social media
• Ability to work 15-20 hours/week for 3 months. The intern should work in the Walpole, MA office at least once per week. The remaining hours may be completed remotely

Qualifications/Skills:

• Ability to use Facebook, Twitter, Google+, and Pinterest as marketing tools
• Ability to communicate professionally and accurately 
• Strong communication and writing skills
• Commitment to GEF's goals and mission
