Position Overview
Pure Strategies seeks a
Senior Sustainability Consultant to be part of our
strategic and technical
consulting services team helping retailers, brands, and
manufacturing firms implement
sustainability into corporate strategy,
product
and supply business processes.
The Senior Consultant will assist with
evaluation of safer chemicals
and materials, modeling of product and
manufacturing processes, and other evidence-driven sustainability analyses.
The ideal candidate will have a proven
track record of developing and executing leading
corporate sustainability programs
and experience in sustainable
chemistry.
Responsibilities
- Work
with clients on a variety of corporate, product, and supply chain issues
including but not limited to analyzing impacts, developing strategies, and building tools
aimed at improving the sustainabilty performance of products, business units and entire firms. - Contribute to corporate sustainablity chemistry
projects for clients
and technical expertise in the company
including chemical alternatives analysis, chemical hazard profiling, market
and regulatory trends analysis, and formulation/processing optimization. - Manage multiple projects and coordinate
work
efforts
of other
team members. - Develop and write project proposals, with
budget, staffing, timing, and task
planning. - Present and write
reports
of work
for clients with
potential for client account.
Management
responsiblities:
- Represent Pure Strategies
at conferences, seminars,
and workshops.
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Undergraduate degree
in chemistry, chemical
engineering,
or a related field. - Master's degree
in an engineering, science,
or business. - Ten years
of relevant
experience
in a corporate role
or in a consulting advisory
role. - Expertise
in chemical and product formulation/material composition technical topics including chemical
alternatives analysis and hazard characterization. - Experience with
corporate business
processes including product design, manufacturing, supply chain management,
marketing, and business strategy. - Strong
knowledge
of corporate sustainability programs and the
issues facing the leaders in this space. - Knowledge of environmental
regulatory and quality requirements
related
to product chemical/material
safety and sustainability. - Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
and present in management, environmental, technical and other forums. - Outstanding project management skills
and careful attention to detail. - Experience managing multiple
projects while meeting
both time and budget commitments. - Ability to work independently and excellent team building, problem solving, written and presentation skills.
- Strong aptitude for critical, qualitative, and
analytical thinking.
Preferred additional skills and characteristics:
- Proficiency in life cycle thinking
and approaches. - Experience with sustainable chemistry tools and models such as GreenScreen, SciVera or GreenWercs (or other),
and EPI Suite. - Experience in consumer product
manufacturing and product development. - Highly skilled in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel and/or Access.
