Rushing is seeking a dynamic, self-driven Senior Sustainability Consultant to join our Sustainability Studio.
We are a Seattle based MEP (Mechanical, Electrical & Plumbing) engineering and sustainability consulting firm. Our firm is founded on the principles that a multi-disciplinary approach is critical in evaluating building performance from a whole-building perspective. The Sustainability Studio provides holistic sustainability consulting including green building rating system management, curriculum development, organizational sustainability strategy development and triple bottom line thinking.
Position Overview:
This individual will manage and support sustainability projects. We are looking for an entrepreneurial team member who can function independently, contribute to the growth strategy of the company, calmly juggle multiple projects at once, switch gears readily, and further strengthen our relationships with the building industry. In short, we are seeking someone who is:

- A Thoughtful Observer: understand our client's needs, draw out their specific goals and translate them into compelling ideas and solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with clients to assess sustainability strategies for new construction, major renovations, tenant improvements, and existing buildings;
- Manage budgets and scope of work for consulting projects;
- Manage and administer the various types of LEED (NC, CS, EBOM, CI, Homes);
- Contribute to the growth strategy and business development of the Sustainability Studio;
- Conduct sustainable design workshops and project meetings;
- Train general contractors on LEED and/or green building practices;
- Perform payback, life cycle cost and upfront cost analyses;
- Develop and present manuals, reports, meeting notes and other documents for communicating recommendations and/or sustainable design processes.
Qualifications:
- Firsthand experience with sustainable design and construction
- Intimate familiarity with LEED (Built Green, Living Building Challenge other rating systems, a plus)
- Background in architecture, engineering, environmental studies or a related field;
- Relevant 4-year college degree;
- Project management experience;
- Understanding of building science;
- Familiarity with current building codes and regulations.
Compensation: The position is Full Time. Salary is DOE. Rushing provides competitive compensation and benefits package.
