Position Overview
Do you want to work in an environment in which creativity and challenging the status quo is as valued as scientific excellence?
If so, you could be our new colleague in BioAg Greenhouse Operations - a highly motivated growing department within BioAg Application Development based in Salem.
Responsibilities
- You will work with our partners, collaborators and other research units to use your scientific background to drive and support research conducted in a greenhouse setting for the BioAg industry.
- You will challenge conventions by developing innovative assays to understand the ability of organisms to survive and thrive in the rhizospheric soil, phyllosphere and on-seed environments to help our customers produce more food, feed, fuel and fiber.
- Alongside an in-depth understanding of scientific principles, you also possess outstanding stakeholder management skills and strong commercial awareness.
- In your daily work, you'll use all of these talents to pioneer research and transform it into business value for our customers.
Qualifications
In this position you need to have:
- Ph.D. in Plant Physiology, Botany, Crop Soil Science or Microbiology with an emphasis in microbe applications in agriculture, plant microbe applications in agriculture, plant microbe interactions and/or microbial physiology, or M.S. and 5+ years relevant experience.
- Experience with greenhouse systems, growing plants in a greenhouse environment, beneficial plant-microbe interactions, development/formulation of microorganism-based products, and development of greenhouse assays to substantiate mode of action testing for actives.
- Experience with applied microbiology within a consumer or industrial product company preferred.
- Strong network within the international scientific community.
- Ability to work independently, effectively manage multiple projects and travel both domestically and internationally up to 10%.
- Ability to work in the U.S. currently and in the future without sponsorship.
