Senior Purchasing Agent

Located in East York, PA, Komax Solar is a world leader in the design and manufacture of precision (high-tech) automation systems for the solar industry. A division of the global Komax Group, Komax Solar provides both standard and custom solutions to companies worldwide to expedite the manufacture of solar modules.

Position Overview:

This position is responsible for the purchasing of electro-mechanical assemblies, robots, electronic controls, passive interconnects, wire, guarding, plastics, and support services.

Responsibilities:

• Request for Quotes & Purchase Orders to the Supply Base
• KPI Metrics- Supplier performance, on time delivery, quality and cost reduction
• Total Acquisition cost
• Travel as required, approximately 10-15 % of time; some international travel may be required
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• A Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Engineering, Business or a related discipline or equivalent experience
• A minimum 6-10 years purchasing & manufacturing experience
• Strong analytical problem solving ability is important
• Capable of multi-tasking
• Ability to read mechanical drawings
• Experience in working with the passive interconnect and electronic parts/ controls/specifications and drawings
• Experience working with the various distributor sales channels
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal & written
• A professional appearance and an assertive personality
• Solid organizational skills, time quality management skills
• Experience in and general knowledge of lean manufacturing and MRP II concepts
• Experience working in an enterprise system purchasing module processing requests for quotes, issuing purchase orders, blanket orders and performance metrics
• Demonstrated experience in the accountability & measurable impact on company performance
• Experience in price negotiations, economics and determining total acquisition cost
• Computer literate in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and email

Compensation: $60,000.00 - $65,000.00 (Yearly Salary)
