Senior Project Developer

juwi Wind North America is a wind farm developer operating throughout North America. 

Designing, building and operating plants that harness renewable energy since 1996, juwi Wind North America is an affiliate of the juwi Group, one of the major international developers of renewable energy projects. juwi has installed approximately 500 wind turbines worldwide at 80 sites , producing a total output of approximately 850 MW (megawatts).

Position Overview:

At present, juwi Wind is seeking a highly qualified Senior Project Developer who will provide leadership in assigned geographic region by managing multiple projects at various stages of development, including greenfield development and identifying acquisition targets.  The position is based in our Boulder, CO headquarters office.

Responsibilities:

As a Senior Project Developer, your responsibilities will include:

• Manages day to day activities for project development
  ?Directs site control activities and strategy, conducts land acquisition either in-house or with land acquisition contractors
  ?Directs wind resource campaign with US Met Tower Manager and Team Site Assessment
  ?Manages interconnection process
  ?Manages permitting process and studies
  ?Provides recommendations concerning project development
  ?Maintains project documents, participates in due diligence
  ?Makes contact with community members and elected officials to support the project
  ?Presents at public, landowner, and other meetings to support the project
  ?Interfaces with consultants on transmission, environmental or other studies
  ?Interfaces with business development, project finance and legal teams
• Responsible for adherence to project development process flows
• Responsible for creation of and adherence to project budgets and schedules
• Responsible for gaining market intelligence in relevant geographic areas; includes actively engaging local, state and regional stakeholders as well as working groups or other relevant interest groups
• Responsible for generating new project concepts and business opportunities

Qualifications:

• 4-year degree or equivalent related work experience.  5+ years of experience in developing wind farms throughout the development cycle.  Ability to handle multiple projects at various stages of development simultaneously.

• Previous experience with all aspects of wind farm siting and development throughout the entire development cycle. A successfully constructed wind farm, a plus.
• Knowledge of wind energy projects markets, ISO/RTOs, wind profiles, transmission interconnection process, market pricing, permitting, environmental and land acquisition
• Proficiency in various Microsoft programs, such as Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Project. Working knowledge of GIS a plus.
• Travel, minimum 50%, based on business need
