ECODIT is an international development firm working with governments, businesses, and local communities to advance environmentally- and socially-responsible development around the world.

Position Overview:

We are currently seeking senior-level specialists for 3 key positions to support "Measuring Impact" (MI), an anticipated 5 year, USAID-funded biodiversity and forest conservation project. Positions available include: Senior Project Design and Planning Specialist, Senior Evaluation Specialist, and Senior Researcher.

MI will enhance the impact of biodiversity and forestry programs in USAID through improved knowledge, evidence based programming, and adaptive management by equipping the staff of USAID's Bureau for Economic Growth, Agriculture, and Trade, Forestry, and Biodiversity Team (EGAT) and selected USAID Missions with knowledge and tools through research, evaluations, technical assistance, and sharing of lessons learned.

The objective of MI is to improve USAID's programming in biodiversity and forest conservation and integrated activities by: 1) enhancing capacity for USAID and partners to design and adaptively manage effective biodiversity, forestry, and related integrates programs; 2) increasing USAID capability for project evaluations; 3) strengthening the evidence base for the contribution of biodiversity conservation to rural development; and 4) enhancing USAID's technical leadership in the conservation field.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least a Master's degree (Ph.D. preferred) in international development, biodiversity conservation, ecology, economics, sociology, anthropology, or public administration; and
  • 15 years of experience in international development or closely related filed, with significant overseas experience.

Other Qualifications shall include at least some of the following:

  • Strong project and program design experience in biodiversity and natural resources management as well as multiple other sectors of international development such as agriculture, governance, health, etc.;
  • Demonstrated training and mentoring experience with international development staff on project design and/or strategic planning, facilitating workshops, and mentoring young professionals from a variety of international and cultural backgrounds;
  • Significant experience in evaluation design and delivery for international development activities and biodiversity conservation projects, including the appropriate use of quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods;
  • Strong skills and expertise in research related to biodiversity, forestry and other natural resource management activities, including in-depth knowledge of research methods, survey and sampling design, and quantitative analysis; and
  • Demonstrated understanding of the USAID program management cycle, and familiarity with rules and regulations applicable to USAID and US Government programming for international development.
