The Climate Trust's projects are expected to offset nearly 2.6 million metric tons of carbon dioxide from $8.8 million in investments - making us one of the largest and most experienced offset buyers in the U.S. market.
The Climate Trust is seeking a highly motivated individual to play a lead role in creating and implementing several key Climate Trust programs in the voluntary and regulatory offset markets. The individual selected will play an important role in expanding our programs nationally. This is an exciting opportunity to work on highly innovative climate change solutions in an energetic, collaborative, and congenial atmosphere.
The Position
The Senior Program Manager will lead overall management of several key Climate Trust programs. The individual will manage the implementation of voluntary offset programs for corporate partners, and help identify, evaluate and acquire offset projects to incorporate into The Climate Trust's offset portfolio.
The Senior Program Manager also will develop project proposals, manage teams, and assure quality and timeliness of deliverables. This position plays a key role in developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and funders and will support business development efforts. In addition, the Senior Program Manager will support the development of policy initiatives and represent The Climate Trust at public forums (e.g, presentations, panels, etc.).
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and deep experience in energy efficiency, renewable energy, or other energy/environmental issues, and knowledge of climate change issues. We are seeking an individual with proven project and people management skills. This position requires excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Experience with greenhouse gas offset projects and the carbon market is highly desirable.
Compensation
The starting annual salary for this position is in the range of $60,000 to $68,000. The Climate Trust offers a highly competitive benefits package, including a "cafeteria" medical, dental and vision plan; three weeks vacation; flexible work hours; a 401K plan; and a bus/bike incentive program.
