At the Las Vegas Valley Water District (LVVWD), Southern Nevada Water Authority (SNWA) and Springs Preserve, we pride ourselves in being a leader in the community.
The LVVWD provides water to more than one million people in Southern Nevada and is one of seven member agencies that make up the SNWA, an agency that addresses Southern Nevada’s unique water needs on a regional basis.
The Springs Preserve is a 180-acre family attraction, featuring museums, galleries and gardens that convey a message of sustainable living in a fun, hands-on way while celebrating the history of Las Vegas.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and skilled individual to provide expert scientific analyses regarding a diversity of issues related to climate change and the impacts to water resources planning. Serves as an advisor to executive management and participates as a liaison for climate change issues and meetings with industry, environmental, legislative, local government and other interest groups.
Qualifications:
Requires graduation from a 4-year college or university with a doctorate in atmospheric science, hydrology, environmental science or a closely related field; and 3 years of responsible experience related to climate change research as it applies to water resources; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Additional experience may be substituted for the required doctorate.
Compensation: Salary: $100,126 annually (Relocation Assistance Available)
Hours of Work: 8am – 5pm, M-F
