Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret solar cell electrical tests (Solar Simulator & Quantum Efficiency) and yield trends. Based on electrical results, define, prioritize and execute experiments to optimize efficiency and yield.
- As part of the Solasta Team, organize and drive photovoltaic cell optimization and continuous improvement efforts.
- Define optimum operating set-points, targets and limits for critical parameters in the process flow to drive high efficiency, yield and reliability.
- Monitor trends and impact of changes. Organize and manage experiments to identify issues and opportunities.
- Review/audit and define analytical techniques and methods to drive cell performance and yield, including inline through end of line measurements.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Advanced Engineering Degree in a related discipline plus photovoltaic/solar cell experience. Electrical Engineering degree is a plus.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in electrical characterization of PV Cells, diagnosing/troubleshooting and implementing robust solutions for reliable, high-efficiency solar cell performance.
- Ideal candidate will have 2+ years experience in a-Si PV cell development, process integration and process optimization for cell performance and low-cost manufacturing.
- Strong knowledge of photovoltaic cell device physics, fabrication methods, experience with setting up and optimizing process equipment. Experience in a process engineering role a plus.
- Strong informal leader and mentor.
- Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Must have valid US work authorization documents.
