Position Overview
The
Development department is organized to build cross departmental
collaboration in order to drive donor engagement. In this decentralized
model, accountability for projects is clearly defined and projects are
assigned based upon skill set and level of skill.
The Senior
Multi-Channel Fundraising Specialist is responsible for consulting on
all development fundraising materials across all channels to increase
reach, effectiveness and efficiency.
This position ensures that
digital communication is fully integrated with phone, mail and
Frontline - the public face of Greenpeace. Working under the global
organization’s new engagement framework, this position will provide and
promote high-level and consistent communication to Greenpeace’s current
and future donors, focusing on appropriate donor appeals, renewals, and
upgrades.
The Senior
Multi-Channel Fundraising Specialist will support all departmental
acquisition and fundraising efforts as the digital expert. The Senior
Multi-Channel Fundraising Specialist will also work on
fundraising/acquisition projects as assigned, working with teams and
vendors to develop communication strategies and fundraising materials.
This includes oversight of creative briefs, content copy writing and
editing, laying out chronological engagement plans and ensuring that
deadlines are met. The Senior Multi-Channel Fundraising Specialist will
effectively guide the creative development of these fundraising projects
from start through final analysis.
In
collaboration with the Deputy Director of Development, the Senior
Multi-Channel Fundraising Specialist will develop increased annual
fundraising goals and supporting budget, as well as a 5-year growth plan
and will be responsible for tracking progress and producing quarterly
and annual reports for the Senior Management Team.
Responsibilities
- In
collaboration with the Online Director, ensure that the delivery of all
fundraising materials and engagement content is optimized using digital
platforms including email, text, social media and the GP website. - Lead the digital transformation of Greenpeace’s direct mail programs away from paper, while maintaining and growing net revenue.
- Coach, train and supervise the Direct Marketing manager
- In
collaboration with the Director of Engagement ensure that department
communication is in line with programs and campaigns language and
cadence. - Working
with the Chief Development Officer to be the innovation leader in
digital to develop new channels of growth for the movement. - Develop and oversee implementation of annual and multi-year strategies in key areas of responsibility.
- Working
with the Online Director to develop strategies to increase the
effectiveness of on-line fundraising with an emphasis on building
monthly sustaining donors from web traffic. - Periodically evaluate the program to the Deputy Director, CDO and SMT.
- Constantly
analyze the data generated by the work and use that knowledge to guide
both strategy and implementation of future tactics.
Qualifications
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Skills and Abilities:
- Top-notch understanding of digital platforms and their use in fundraising.
- Expertise in online platforms and tools such as Luminate, WordPress, Facebook, Twitter, Google Analytics, etc.
- Ability to lead, consult on or manage complex projects from creation to completions.
- An innovator who loves to create but does not need to own.
- Ability to review and edit fundraising appeals in all mediums but with an emphasis on digital platforms.
- Excellent
verbal and written communication skills, strong interpersonal skills,
strong organizational and project management skills, team-building
skills, familiarity with the fundamentals of accounting and financial
reporting, and familiarity with relational databases required. - Must be
creative, flexible, responsible, and able to balance a variety of
activities. - Ability to set priorities, and must be able to work within
deadlines.
Experience and Accomplishments:
- A
minimum of 5 years of online campaigning/fundraising experience with a
history of creating multi-channel fundraising strategies. - Solid background in direct marketing analytics.
- Strong background in on-line and digital analytics, and a deep understanding and commitment to testing.
- A proven track record in developing and managing a team.
- A strong working knowledge of current fundraising industry practices.
- Commitment to and a passion for the principles of Greenpeace and protecting the environment.
