Senior Hydrogeologist/Modeler

Highly-acclaimed, Rocky Mountain Environmental Engineering Consulting Company is actively seeking a Senior Hydrogeologist to join its growing team in Boulder, Colorado.

Position Overview:

Qualified applicants will offer a MS Degree in an environmental-related field (PhD and specific emphasis in Hydrogeology or Geological Engineering are preferred) and have 3-7 years of experience working as a hydrogeologist and groundwater modeler (candidates must have strong modeling experience). This position requires expert knowledge of MODFLOW software (any experience working with groundwater vistas, visual MODFLOW, or GMS is considered a plus). Candidates must also have experience with inverse modeling calibration.

Responsibilities:

Specific responsibilities for this position include:

• Subsurface geological, hydrogeological and geochemical characterization of hazardous waste, mining, and/or petrochemical industry sites.
• Modeling of groundwater flow and transport in saturated and unsaturated systems.
• Project management of hazardous waste, mining, or petrochemical projects.
• Aquifer testing and data evaluation using AQTESOLV and aquifer test pro.
• Soil and groundwater sampling.
• Minimal travel to project sites required (no more than 15% of the time).

Qualifications:

Specific qualifications for this position include:

• MS Degree (PhD preferred) in Hydrogeology or Geological Engineering.
• Excellent communication, organization, and report writing skills.
• Professional Certifications preferred - Engineer-in-Training, Professional Engineer, or Professional Geologist, OSHA, MSHA, etc.; any California-licenses are considered a huge plus for this position.
• Strong client interface ability and project management skills.

This position can interview and start immediately; out-of-state candidates will be considered for this position but local candidates are preferred.

Required Skills:

• Master's degree in environmental-related field (PhD preferred)
• 3-7 years of experience working as a hydrogeologist and ground water modeler
• MODFLOW software expertise is required
• Any experience with groundwater vistas and visual MODFLOW and GMS is considered a plus
• Strong client interface and communication skills
• Any professional licenses are considered a plus: PG or PE
