Senior Fisheries Scientist

Seeking a senior fisheries scientist with at least a BA/BS in fisheries or other environmental science, and must have a minimum of 5 years of relevant post-degree experience. Professional experience with anadromous fish and resident salmonids, west coast threatened and endangered species, and conducting stream surveys is preferred. Experience with stream ecology, water quality, environmental assessments and endangered species consultation is highly desirable. The candidate must have excellent oral and written communication skills and experience managing technical work. Candidates must be available to travel and conduct fieldwork.

Responsibilities include: preparing technical sections and coordinating the preparation of environmental assessments, management plans, and various other environmental studies, study design, data collection and analysis, proposal and report writing, project/task management, and client contact. Key qualities for the successful candidate, beyond technical excellence, include: self-motivation, initiative, and the ability to work well independently and with diverse team members.
