Senior Firmware Engineer

XZERES Wind Corp, a rapidly growing, publicly traded designer, manufacturer and solutions provider in the small wind energy industry is seeking an exceptional Senior Firmware Engineer to fill an essential role on our diverse, ever-growing engineering team. This position is in a high growth and dynamic environment, requiring a high level of adaptability and resourcefulness.

Responsibilities:

Essential Functions: The Senior Firmware Engineer will lead the specification, design, testing, optimization, and continuous improvement of current and future embedded measurement and control software for wind turbine systems. The Engineer will develop control and measurement algorithms for systems and subsystems, and protocols for interfaces between proprietary and commercial components.

Supervisory Functions: At this time, the Senior Firmware Engineer will not directly supervisor other engineers, but will be required to work with manufacturing vendors to support the production of embedded software.

Qualifications:

The Engineer must successfully demonstrate the ability to work with senior engineers responsible for systems design, electronics design, field service & support, to develop, launch, and maintain high performance and highly manufacturable products. This is a very technical role requiring rapid engineering of effective firmware solutions.

Desired Skills & Experience:

• 7+ years of experience in design, integration, and support of embedded software written in C and assembly language
• Experience designing SW for high-power AC or DC motor/motion control is highly desired.
• Experience with user application development is a plus
• Experience in renewable energy, aerospace, or motor/motion controls industries is preferred; wind industry experience is highly desired.

Education:

BS in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or Computer Science is required; Master's degree is desired.
