Organically Grown Company, the Northwest's Premier distributor of organic produce, is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to be based out of its Portland facility.
With warehouses in Portland and Eugene, Oregon, and Kent, Washington, OGC serves over 200 natural and fine foods stores and restaurants located throughout western Oregon and Washington, as well as retail and wholesale accounts in other western states and Canada.

Primary Purpose & Scope of Position
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing OGC's management team with the information and supporting analysis to make sound business decisions informed by our mission and core values. The role will require development of complex financial and operational models in Excel, management analysis and reporting, and project management support across a wide of array of activities including support of operations, purchasing, sales, business development, and ownership.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Planning and budgeting:
- Work closely with CEO, Director of Finance and other functional leaders to analyze business opportunities, develop project justifications and perform other ad-hoc analysis as needed.
- Support and train functional leaders and managers to make them self sufficient in preparing rigorous and defensible capital authorization requests (CAPEX) that include payback and IRR analyses and lease versus buy assessments (when applicable).
- Update and conduct quality control to OGC's Annual Operating Plan (AOP) financial models to upgrade our resource allocation decisions and minimize surprises.
- Build multivariate, scenario-based models to evaluate new opportunities and other strategic decisions.
Financial analysis and management reporting:
- Provide financial analysis in a clear, easy-to-understand format to help the management team (M-Team) and board of directors make informed business decisions.
- Assist CEO in drafting monthly reports to the Board of Directors including identifying and addressing major variances versus budget and reviewing factors affecting changes to cash flow.
- Supervise the compilation and reporting of OGC's period KPIs.
Qualifications
Knowledge and Experience:
- Personal alignment with OGC's mission and core values.
- B.A. or B.S. degree.
- Minimum five years of applied analytical experience in the private sector.
- Demonstrated understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Field-test experience preparing and defending CAPEX proposals.
- Experience presenting financial information and providing variance analysis to C-level staff.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication and presentations skills.
- Demonstrated analytical and quantitative skills with strong working knowledge of corporate financials.
- Expert modeling skills using Excel.
- Proven ability to work cooperatively across functions and with teams while meeting stringent deadlines.
- Aptitude and appetite to thrive in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities and competing demands for time and resources.
- Valid driver's license.
