Description

Collectively, we represent 3 disciplines: Exhibit Development, Design, and Project Management.

Exhibit Developers guide the interpretation from project start to finish. They execute research, develop interpretive goals, articulate the visitor experience, identify messages, and oversee the creation of exhibit text and research and acquisition of images.

Designers are responsible for the physical aspects of the exhibit. Both graphic and 3D designers concentrate on the affective aspects of exhibit projects, ensuring that the experience is compelling and accessible.

Project Managers oversee contract negotiation, establish schedules, coordinate deliverables, and maintain a watchful eye over budgets.

Position Overview:

Amaze Design is seeking a Senior Exhibit Developer to lead the planning and development of multiple science exhibitions. Working full-time in our Boston office, you will be expected to collaborate with other content developers, designers, project managers, and media producers to refine schematic design concepts into detailed design development documents.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide all scientific content and educational messages associated with the exhibits.
  • Develop conceptual exhibit ideas into specific details and components during the design development phase.
  • Manage and upkeep a detailed database of all exhibition content (including text, graphics, artifacts, and interactives).
  • Communicate and coordinate closely with team members.
  • Supervise support staff and oversee the overall content development process.

Qualifications:

  • Ideal candidates shall possess a Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Education, Sciences, and/or Museum Planning (or related field).

  • Ability to manage and develop complex projects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Passion for science and innovative ways to educate broad audiences.
  • Ability to practically apply creative ideas.
  • Honed research skills.
  • Efficient time management and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to take initiative, working both independently and collaboratively.

Compensation: Competitive and commensurate with experience. Full Time, winter 2010 - fall 2011. Hourly contract or freelance basis
