In 1970, Maryland's Governor and legislators created Maryland Environmental Service to protect the state's air, land and water resources. Today, our independent state agency continues to fulfill this vital directive.
We have no regulatory authority and we receive no direct appropriations. Our agency is a self-supporting, not-for-profit public corporation, combining the public sector's commitment to environmental protection with the private sector's flexibility and responsiveness.
MES provides services at competitive rates to government and private sector clients and works on projects including water and wastewater treatment, solid waste management, composting, recycling, dredged material management, hazardous materials cleanup, and renewable energy. We provide expert engineering, monitoring and inspection services.
Position Overview:
An opening exists for a Senior Engineer to manage the Engineering Section of the Environmental Dredging and Restoration Division in Millersville. Responsibilities include personnel management, budget management, engineering management, construction management and client support.
Qualifications:
Minimum qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in engineering, (civil, environmental, geotechnical, mechanical, or structural), from an accredited college or university; 9 years professional engineering experience in engineering and project coordination and management, including construction or environmental restoration required.
Marine Construction experience and registration as a Professional Engineer in the State of Maryland, preferred.
Must have the ability to organize, manage and control workflow, to communicate effectively orally and in writing and the ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Compensation: Salary is commensurate with experience.
