Position Overview
We are currently seeking a Senior Consultant for Nexant's Consulting Business Unit. The successful candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in the global renewables sector, with a primary focus on biofuels and biochemical technology and markets. The successful candidate will manage work streams and medium size projects, and will make a significant contribution to winning work and have a key role in developing client accounts.
Responsibilities
- Liaise with clients to manage project deliverables
- Develop relationships and win new business
- Manage assignments and maintain quality control, budget and schedule of all deliverables, with demonstrated excellence
- Lead execution of assignments with a team of junior-level analysts as required by the project
- Lead in writing proposals
- Lead in closing contracts
- Lead or assists in project management, execution and/or delivery of engagement with direct interaction with clients
- Has a full understanding of the scope and methodology for executing engagements
- Participate in the management and delivery of consultancy engagements to exceed clients' expectations and meet internal quality, time and budget constraints
- Contribute to sales of new work and developing key client accounts
- Provide supervision, support and development of junior colleagues as appropriate
- Help maintain and extend Nexant's recognized brand leadership in industry-focused consultancy covering commercial, techno-economic and strategic analysis. Typically, this is achieved through preparation of conference papers, and press articles as well as personal relationships

Qualifications
Education
- Primary degree in a subject relevant to the energy industry (for example engineering, chemistry, economics)
- Higher degree in relevant subject is a plus (Masters, PhD, MBA)
Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 5-15 years of industry experience with a specific technical and/or commercial focus in the renewables industry
- Working experience with a renewable company, with time at a top industry or management consultancy a major plus
- Excellent presentation and confident report writing skills
- Good analytical and problem solving skills
- Demonstrable leadership and management skills
- Experience of developing and delivering business cases to sponsors and investors
- Excellent verbal communication skills for interacting with clients
- Proven ability to generate consulting revenue
Personal qualities and Knowledge
- Positive and flexible attitude
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Diplomatic in meeting and working with people, good cultural awareness
- IT skills including word processing, advanced knowledge of Excel, and use of databases
- Understanding and commitment to equal opportunities
- Flexible and willing to work extra hours as necessary to accommodate busy work loads
- Ability to travel up to approximately 20% of the time
