Description

World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the global conservation organization, seeks a Sr. Communications Officer for Species.  Within the Species Conservation Program, conceptualize, develop and direct strategies and communications tools to promote WWF's species conservation programs and WWF species scientists. 

Responsibilities:

Responsible for ensuring that WWF species campaigns call attention to key emerging issues and inform the public and decision makers about their significance in WWF priority places.   This entails working on high-profile WWF species projects and external events such as international conferences, coordinating closely with public relations department and field staff to support these priorities. 

Qualifications: 

A bachelor's degree required; master's degree preferred in communications, journalism, or related field.  At least 7 years of related work experience in the communications/ public relations or conservation field is required.  Familiarity with global species conservation issues is preferred.
