Description:
Sr. Energy Analyst (Grade II/III/IV depending on qualifications)

Technology Planning & Development,
Energy Science & Technology Division

Grade II- BS degree in engineering or architecture with two-three years of experience in doing building simulation modeling (DOE-2 or BLAST), MS degree with at least two years of related experience or PhD. Grade III- BS degree with five years of related experience, MS degree with three years of related experience or PhD. Grade IV- BS degree with seven or more years of related experience or MS degree with five or more years of related experience or PhD. with three years of related experience. Candidate must have an interest in energy and building sciences, with a focus on commercial buildings in particular. It is desirable to have programming or scripting experience (Perl, Python) and experience with Excel or Access macros.

PNNL has a critical need for a senior level energy analyst to assist with our building energy efficiency programs. These programs include the Building Energy Codes Program, Federal Energy Management Program and the Commercial Equipment Standards Program, all of which are aimed at buildings and equipment respectively. Most of our programs are funded by the U.S. Department of Energy and nearly all of our programs aim to have a national impact. Opportunities exist to work with national codes and standards, research and manufacturers organizations like ASHRAE, IESNA, ICC, NFRC, ARI and NAIMA. Will perform technical analyses, develop system models and provide analysis of issues impacting national policy development.
