Job Description:

UltraSystems Environmental has an exciting opportunity in its Irvine office for an experienced senior-level Biologist to join our management team and lead our Biological Resources team.

Job Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess at least ten to fifteen years experience working in Southern California ecosystems and regulatory settings. This seller/doer must have proven ability to prepare winning proposals and provide leadership and mentoring for junior-level project managers and staff.

Specific disciplines can be a combination of any of the following: wetland delineation and permitting, conservation biology, wildlife biology, botany, and/or habitat restoration. Experience with federal, state, and local regulatory agencies with B.S. in biology or related field required; preference will be given to M.S. or Ph.D.

Job Responsibilities:

Duties include managing staff and projects, providing technical expertise, directing fieldwork, developing business and preparing proposals for local and regional opportunities.

Skills would include expertise in the disciplines mentioned above, with an understanding of Southern California native plant communities and management of rare plant and wildlife species. Excellent written and verbal communication skills also are essential.
