CTG’s online platform, i3, has the largest coverage of companies, investors, deals and partnerships across all areas of sustainable innovation globally. Our platform enables corporates, investors and all players in the ecosystem to keep their fingers on the pulse of who and what is happening

i3 powers our CTG Monitor subscription service, which brings clients our monitoring of the market via customizable daily alerts, a weekly roundup, insights on a bi-monthly basis, and the Quarterly Investment Monitor.

Position Overview

We are now building out our research team to develop a suite of premium research services (in market intelligence subscription format and in custom research services) and are looking for passionate, experienced individuals who can help shape and grow these services. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity to be in on the build of something  from the beginning.

Corporations and investors need to have a view they can trust that tracks early warning signals, and provides analysis on trends, companies, and opportunities across the constantly changing innovation landscape that CTG covers. This includes not only existing market sectors like energy, transportation, agriculture/ food, water, and materials; it includes cross cutting business opportunities enabled by technology and customer interests.

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Write research/intelligence briefs using propriety data, third party information as well primary research i.e. you will talk to lots of people, identify trends and opportunities, and communicate how they are relevant to the growth of our clients
  • Work with clients and prospective clients to understand research/intel needs, develop plans to align ongoing research programs to deliver scheduled relevant content
  • Work with existing team and management to develop and grow a market intelligence offering
  • Contribute to research agenda and client specific monthly briefings – from topic identification to producing and delivering the content
  • Develop and grow a network of people you communicate with on a regular basis across the innovation ecosystem both as sources of primary research and business development opportunities
  • Develop issue sets as the first step in focusing hypotheses, defining scope of analysis and then transitioning issues into comprehensive work plans.

  • Build, manage, train and develop analysts and teams of analysts
  • Identify, test and develop new service offerings. This is an entrepreneurial opportunity to help build a line of business from its beginnings

Qualifications

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of strategic/business consulting, venture, market research, i-bank or corporate development activities, ideally relevant to CTG’s coverage areas
  • Well-developed and proven analytical skills to synthesize data, identify trends, business activities, market segments and communicate opportunities
  • Well-developed quantitative skills that will allow the successful measurement of market opportunity, sizing, and metrics.
  • Be an effective communicator who thinks strategically, writes concisely, and speaks easily to large, small groups, executives and peers.

  • Compensation: In line with market. We are open to different levels of experience and seniority for this position.
