Description
The Campbell Group has an opening in its Fort Bragg, CA office for a Seasonal Wildlife/Fisheries Technician.
This will be a full-time position lasting 5-6 months. Must possess degree in Wildlife or a related field like Fisheries or Hydrology (or be working towards such degree). Minimum one-year field experience conducting wildlife and/or salmonid surveys in a forested environment.
Duties
- Conduct northern spotted owl surveys and monitoring including banding capture/recapture.
- Conduct marbled murrelet surveys.
- Collect forest habitat metrics using various sampling methodologies.
- Conduct fish density surveys using backpack electro-fisher.
- Perform office preparations, data entry, and other duties as assigned.
- Practical field experience with topographic maps and compass use required.
- Must be willing and able to work alone in forested environments during hours of darkness and inclement weather.
Valid driver's license and good driving record required. Must be willing to learn/use ATVs.
Salary commensurate with experience.
