Position Overview
Green Chimneys Clearpool Campus in Carmel, NY is now hiring Seasonal Outdoor Educators!
Responsibilties
Responsibilities include:
- Leading groups in adventure/nature based activities (teambuilding, low/high rope challenges, interpretive hikes, and ecology based programs);
- Staffing evening programs when needed;
- Program coordination and curriculum development;
- Upkeep of program materials/program areas; and
- Assisting with public programs as well as special events.
Qualifications
- An Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Education, Environmental Education, Recreation, Science, or a related field is preferred.
- Must be able to work outdoors in all types of weather and lift 50lbs. Working knowledge of environment is required.
- Previous facilitation experience in adventure based (high ropes course/climbing/lifeguarding) and/or environmental based programming as well as working with diverse populations is preferred.
- CPR, Lifeguard, or Advanced Wilderness Training a plus!
Compensation: Staff will earn $350 for a 40 hour work week. Room and meals are included. Positions are temporary.
