Description
Duties:
SCA Hudson Valley offers professional level conservation service opportunities within New York State Parks, Historic Sites and Department of Environmental Conservation and other partner sites throughout the Hudson Valley region. SCA members serve at individual agency site placements and provide direct conservation service to surrounding communities. The service projects range from watershed protection, habitat restoration, wildlife protection, environmental education, public access and trail enhancement, archeological stewardship, and historical preservation. SCA members make a positive impact on local communities, increase the publics awareness of natural resources and encourage individual commitment to conservation.
Qualifications:
- To be eligible you must have a college degree or equivalent including relevant coursework and/or fieldwork experience, effective communication skills, and the ability to work independently.
- Eligible applicants must be US citizens or permanent residents.
- Please note that individual positions may have additional requirements regarding related studies, experience and/or certifications.
- There is no age limit for any positions, although flexibility and a spirit of adventure are a must!
Terms:
- Most positions last for 5-10 months and begin NOW through January 2004!
(Shorter positions beginning late March or May/early June may also be available) - All positions are full-time unless otherwise noted.
- Benefits (except where otherwise noted): $16 week; housing or additional stipend for housing if not provided; free accident and health insurance and student loan deferment.
