Solar Market (retail division of Talmage Solar Engineering, Inc.) has been engineering, selling, and installing photovoltaic, solar hot water, and other renewable energy systems since 1975. As a BP Solar Distributor for eight years, we sell systems across the country with a focus on the East Coast. We are an energetic, fun-loving, and dedicated team, expanding with the rapidly growing market.

Solar Market is excited to be launching a new marketing and advertising campaign this summer, focusing on grid-tied solar electric systems. This campaign will generate qualified leads, which will be further refined by our in-house staff. 

We are looking to hire two sales professionals to close on these leads in the New Jersey, Long Island, and greater New York State markets. 

This is a great opportunity to sell a product that provides value to the customer, society, and the environment. As the frontline representatives of our company, salespeople are given training and support to make them stand out as respected and trusted professionals. This is a full time position, but salespeople have flexibility to set their own hours to meet their sales goals. Salespeople are paid a base salary plus commissions and can reasonably expect to earn $90-100k or more per year. Our strategy to use our engineering talents and close ties to the rapidly evolving distributed generation industry to develop and market reliable new products. Successful sales people will have the opportunity to continually grow with us, selling these new, state of the art energy systems. 

Qualifications: 

We are looking for candidates who are energetic, have good people skills, and are enthusiastic about renewable energy. Good verbal and written communication skills are essential, as is retail or consumer sales experience. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and sales experience that includes selling equipment or improvements for the home. Applicants should also be able to work independently, be willing to work on evenings and weekends, and travel frequently within their region and occasionally to other states.
