Description
We are an emerging environmental non-profit located in the environmental epicenter of the nation. We have a unique educational product that promotes pioneering organizations and sustainable businesses.
Position Overview:
We are looking for an experienced Sales Person, or someone who has the natural ability to promote something you believe in. If you have knowledge of the Green Movement and understand the true definition of Sustainability, we have an exciting job for you.
You will work locally and be contacting groups from all over the country who will be coming to the Bay Area. Our service is valuable to anyone living in or visiting the Bay Area. You will be selling, educating and making a difference in many lives.
Potential clients may be in other parts of the country or the world that are not familiar with our work and culture.
Qualifications:
- Access to high speed Internet and unlimited long distance.
- Organized, with the ability to work independently and efficiently, often with no supervision
- Understand how to prioritize tasks and to differentiate between what will produce revenue and what is a waste of valuable time
- Strong time management skills and see the big picture, able to identify potential new business
- Have effective follow-up procedures to close deals and coordinate with operations staff
- Collaborate effectively with marketing and PR
- Strong phone skills, excellent grammar and editing skills for e-mail/sales campaign
- Be able to align yourself and communicate effectively with corporate people as well as schools, other non-profits and grass roots organizations, whomever is your audience.
This position is made possible through the Subsidized Employment Program of Alameda County.
You will work X hours a week for X months. If you are successful, you will help us to create a permanent paid sales position for you.
Eligibility is determined by which county you live in, here are the requirements:

If you are 18-24 old -have no kids yourself - have a younger sibling, and still live with your parent who is 200% below poverty level.
