Position Overview

NXEGEN, LLC, one of the region's most progressive energy services companies, is seeking Sales Managers for its Energy Services division.

Our Sales Managers receive in-depth training on our service portfolio, including our proprietary, real-time energy monitoring, management and control system. This system is based upon two foundational patents and is indicative of our strategic approach to anticipating - and meeting - customer needs.

Our Sales Managers also serve as strategic partners and connect an innovative community of customers, vendors and partners to deliver timely and holistic energy solutions. This key position will be tasked with growing the company's energy services offerings, including energy efficiency, energy procurement, information systems and related services.

Our Sales Managers will be responsible for securing new accounts for NXEGEN, as well as cross-selling services from one of the most sophisticated solution portfolios in our industry. The position reports to, and will work closely with, the Director of Sales. 

Key Markets: 

  • Key markets include municipalities;
  • Intermediate to larger commercial/industrial accounts; and
  • Institutions and small businesses.  

Responsibilities 


This is a mission-critical position for NXEGEN. Among the position's responsibilities:
 

  • Develop and implement a sales plan to achieve sales objectives and target level of production
  • Serve as a strategic ambassador for our firm and as a customer advisor in support of our portfolio, including energy conservation
  • Identify, nurture and close B2B opportunities while helping to grow our energy services division and supporting cross-selling of services 
  • Manage sales objectives and sales quota through networking and other business development methodologies
  • Contribute to sales and revenue forecasts and reports that document overall performance 
  • Work closely with our Operations team members, Energy Information Services and other stakeholders to ensure the timely fulfillment of all sales proposals
  • Meet or exceed annual sales target for personal sales production
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge of service offerings, sustainability or conservation programs and monitor competitive environment within the retail energy space
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing sales results and providing input on means to enhance service delivery
  • Leverage and establish professional networks

Qualifications 

We are seeking candidates who are committed and highly motivated. We prefer candidates who can work effectively with the NXEGEN team to increase business and offer solutions that serve the best interests of our customers, our company and the environment. 

Key requirements are as follows: 

  • Five (5) plus years of sales experience, preferably within the energy or energy services industries
  • Experience working in energy efficiency or energy procurement, as well as knowledge of demand-side management offerings
  • Familiarity with energy efficiency solutions, including lighting, mechanical and building automation systems, as well as controls and load management
  • Passion for business development (including cold-calling) and a desire to promote conservation is a key requirement
  • Strong communication, negotiation, planning and presentation skills
  • Solid business acumen and problem solving skills
  • Certified Energy Manager (CEM), or similar designation is a plus
  • Experience working with C-Level executives, as well as facility managers is a plus
  • A college degree is required, preferably in the fields of marketing, business, environmental science and/or sustainability 


Compensation: 
We offer a competitive compensation package, including base salary, commission and bonus opportunities. We espouse a pay-for-performance orientation. Medical benefits, 401(k) and transportation allowance also provided, along with two weeks paid vacation and paid holidays.
