Astrum Solar is a funded startup company whose goal is to spread solar power to rooftops across the US, starting with the DC/MD area and targeting residential customers. We aim to innovate in the sales and marketing of solar to consumers and make it easy and exciting for homeowners to go solar.

We are looking for a sales manager with consumer sales and sales management experience to round out our management team.

Responsibilities: 

  • Initially (first 3-6 months), the sales manager will help sell solar systems to homeowners in the MD/DC area. Sales responsibilities include calling prospects identified through marketing campaigns or through the website, scheduling and attending customer home visits with a technical partner to make the sale, and following up on sales visits. 
  • Working with the marketing department, the sales manager will design and implement a sales strategy that incorporates web, phone, and in-person components.
  • Using his/her past experience and knowledge of sales theory, the sales manager will design a compensation scheme for salespeople.
  • After the initial learning period, the sales manager will transition to a player/coach role, eventually having his/her primary responsibility be to hire, train, motivate and manage a team of salespeople.
  • The sales manager will also be instrumental in providing a sales perspective to management decisions
  • Astrum Solar is an exciting, fast-paced startup, with many responsibilities being shared, so be prepared to go above and beyond the job description 

Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 10 years experience, with at least 5 years of sales management experience leading a sales team, setting sales goals, designing compensation structures, and hiring/firing personnel.
  • Experience selling a complicated product to sophisticated, high income individuals. - Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, presentation and negotiation
  • Excellent computer skills
  • MBA degree, entrepreneurship experience a plus 

Compensation: $100K with equity potential for highly qualified individuals
