Description
Start-up social enterprise in sustainable apparel hiring for business development / sales and marketing.
PLAYBACK clothing is based on new ways to make and sell eco apparel through recycling. We make sweatshirts and T-shirts from recycled plastic bottles, clothing scraps, and x-rays, that have better sustainability than even organic, better quality than most of the other blanks suppliers, and most importantly it looks better and different than regular clothes.
We sell our T-shirts and sweatshirts to customers who can then print their own logo and artwork on the clothing and re-sell it to the general public. Some past customers have been Dave Matthews, Phish, Wilco, Greenpeace, WV, Sierra Nevada, and Google. Future potential customers are art fairs, film festivals, social enterprises, non-profits, corporations, and eventually retail stores. We are looking for someone to reach out to these potential clients.
Our goal is to redefine what eco apparel is and what it can be, and in the process build a badge brand. We change all previous perceptions of eco apparel as being more expensive, having bland style and in the case of organic, having questionable eco merits. These are the challenges we work to beat, through an innovative product and business model.
Responsibilities:
You will work the entire sales process through on your own from lead generation to closing. In order to achieve this, your tasks will include:
- Generating lists of potential customers.
- Approaching appropriate music festivals and tours for merchandise sales.

- Promoting, networking and showing at major eco- and socially conscious events and conferences.

- Helping the founder to create presentations for investor and major client meetings.

Please note: To become familiar with our product and day-to-day business functions, you will prepare yourself for the sales position by handling customer service for the first 3 months, after which you will shift to the sales focus of your position. Your customer service tasks will include: handling current client requests, shipping requirements, updating inventories, inventory substitutions, and then following up on shipping and billing.
