High profile Oakland non-profit seeks a skilled professional to join our team. Help make a difference for farmers and farm workers around the world. Fair Trade is an exciting alternative to "business as usual" that guarantees fair prices and better working conditions for developing-country producers of food products including coffee, tea, cocoa and fresh fruit. TransFair USA is a non-profit organization that provides the only certification for Fair Trade products in the US.

Supervisor: Director of Business Development
Schedule: Full time, Monday-Friday
Salary: Dependent on experience, includes full benefits
Overview of Position: Working with the Director of Business Development, this position will be responsible for developing new retail account relationships and managing current regional and national retail accounts that sell Fair Trade Certified products. Retail accounts include stores and chains in the natural and specialty grocery channel, as well as mainstream supermarkets. Product offerings include Fair Trade Certified coffee, tea, chocolate, bananas, and other fresh fruit.
Specific duties include:
* Account management for large and small retail accounts (product roll-out, PR support management, marketing materials, origin tours, and staff training).
* Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies and budget for retail accounts management program.
* Participation in retailer trade shows.
* Manage development and distribution of point-of-sale and promotional materials to retail accounts.
* Grocery distributor outreach: staff training, co-op ad coordination, and presentations to buyers.
* Manage support staff and interns.
QUALIFICATIONS:Previous experience as a Sales, Account, or Brand Manager in coffee or grocery (natural, specialty, and/or supermarket) industry. Solid writing, interpersonal, and presentation skills. Ability to work under pressure and multi-task. Proficient in Internet technologies and Microsoft Office applications. Spanish language skills a plus. Travel is required. Based in Oakland, CA.
